Heathrow Airport has teamed up with Stephen Fry to produce a quirky little quintessentially British welcome video for passengers touching down at London Heathrow Airport.
The unique video guide, which will welcome London Heathrow Airport’s 75 million annual passengers features the UK’s national treasure, Stephen Fry offering travellers a warm British welcome, and some pointers to surviving on British streets. Laced with British humour throughout, Fry highlights the British love for queueing, what to do when entering conversation with a stranger and why exactly do we all cheer when someone in a bar or restaurant smashes a glass?
To mark the launch of the video, London Heathrow Airport commissioned research in which it asked 1000 foreign visitors what they loved the most about visiting the UK. The top five things that visitors love about the UK are: traditional pubs, British sense of humour, double decker buses, glorious countryside and our elaborate history.
Patrcia Yates, Director of VisitBritain said:
“There’s a huge variety of extraordinary experiences that you can only get in Britain, and so much to do and see across all our nations and regions, from our fashion and food to our scenery and heritage and our great sporting events. Capturing some of our typically British sense of humour is a wonderful way to lay out the welcome mat to international visitors coming to the UK, giving them a taste of our ability to laugh at ourselves and to inspire them to experience more of what makes Britain such a GREAT destination.”
