If you have hired a VW campervan and are taking a road trip in Scotland, then Glasgow is well worth stopping off for. Or perhaps you have hired a campervan in Glasgow for travelling around the wonderful countryside that surrounds the greater city itself. Either way, be sure to check out the events happening in Glasgow 2016, as there is much to see and do for everyone.
In terms of events, the family friendly festival of MugStock takes place again in July 2016, where there is not only a wide range of live music, but also children’s workshops and entertainment. In the Spring, Glasgow has it’s own comedy festival which attracts some big names as well as showcasing new talent, and later in the year hosts a science festival.
In addition to events happening in Glasgow this year, there are all the usual fantastic attractions such as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Burrell Collection, the Riverside museum, The Gallery of Modern Art, and many other culturally interesting places. As well as galleries and museums, there is the Glasgow Concert Halls where you can hear amazing music, or if more modern gigs are your thing then you have some great venues such as The Barrowlands, King Tutts, and of course the SECC.
Glasgow also has wonderful countryside and stunning scenery around it, and you are just a stone’s throw from the Scottish Highlands, so this is the perfect place to head as part of a campervan holiday in Scotland.
