It was a great gesture and sight according to Car Hire Glasgow Airport, for those who could see the Hydro or were in the area of the building when it changed colour.
The Hydro stadium in Glasgow turned gold in honour of the record medal haul achieved by Team Scotland in the Commonwealth Games.
On day six of the Games, Scotland’s silver and bronze medals took the host nation to 37. The previous best was 33 from the Games in Edinburgh in 1986. The Hydro changed to gold over a period of an hour and a half as the sun set over the city.
Earlier on the official twitter account the TSSE Hydro had posted, “In honour of the record medal haul from Team Scotland at Glasgow 2014, the Hydro building will turn gold at 9:30pm tonight.”
