It just keeps on finding new ways to put on shows and Car Hire Edinburgh Airport will staff will be taking any opportunity to see shows at this year’s festival.
The ice rink in Edinburgh will be transformed in to a Fringe Festival venue for the first time, with promises of being one of the most spectacular shows. It will be transformed for a month to allow French-Canadian performers to stage a show with a mix of contemporary dance show and a party on ice.
It will be a 105 minute show by a five strong group, with the opportunity for members of the audience to take part in the finale. The group are called Le Patin Libre and are being brought to the ice rink as part of Aurora Nova’s Fringe performance, one of the five performers said, “The show will be more dynamic, clever, sophisticated, original and funny than anything you’ve ever seen on an ice rink.”
Wolfgang Hoffmann, artistic director of Aurora Nova, said “It is a unique, beautiful and visceral experience. And to then be allowed onto the ice to try out your own dance moves is just so much fun.”
Billed as the world’s first contemporary ice dance company, they will be following in the footsteps of Torvill and Dean, who appeared at Murrayfield after their Olympic gold success in 1984.
