Car Hire Birmingham Airport have welcomed the announced investment in the region by the Prime Minister, hoping it will all be put to good use.
It has been welcomed by MP’s as Birmingham will receive £350 million of investment as announced by David Cameron and Cities Minister Greg Clark. This will include expansion of the Midland Metro, a new campus at Birmingham Metropolitan College to teach skills such as advanced manufacturing, engineering and more. Also a new public transport system called Sprint, using special buses linking up to Birmingham Airport.
MP Andrew Mitchell (Con Sutton Coldfield) said “It shows what can be achieved when we all pull together. There is no doubt that Andy Street in leading the LEP and Greg Clark in his skill and enthusiasm for building stronger cities and regions have done Birmingham proud.”
The money awarded has come from a Government scheme called the Local Growth Fund, with the successful bid for cash being drawn up by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership led by John Lewis Managing Director Andy Street.
