Jobs created in Liverpool with more expected

There is potential for the creation of jobs in Liverpool near to where Car Hire Liverpool Airport is based. Paul Snr from the branch can give details on where these jobs could be created in the next year.

There are 500 jobs being relocated to Liverpool from Lancashire, with the possibility of more being created in the future. Services group Amey is to close its North West base in Leyland, near Preston early next year to move to The Matchworks in Garston. The lease is coming to an end in Leyland, which was former headquarters of Enterprise, which Amey bought in April this year.

There were offices already in use by Enterprise at the Matchworks prior to the Amey takeover. Staff in Leyland were told of the proposed move late last week.

A spokesperson for Amey said “staff knew the lease at the former Enterprise site was due to end and that a move was likely. Back in April we announced that we would not be extending the lease on our Lancaster House building in Leyland when it is up for renewal at the end of 2014 because the building is no longer fit for purpose. This week we have, therefore, begun to communicate with employees about which offices we plan to relocate them to throughout next year. We have also taken into consideration our growth plans which will involve growing the number of people we employ over the next few years.”

Amey works with public and regulated sector clients, providing a huge array of services such as consulting expertise, highways projects, utilities, property and facilities management, aviation services, asset management, contract centres and waste management.
