Calling all literature fans! The return of the Lancashire Literature Festival, LITFEST 2016 is almost upon us. Taking place in Lancaster across the weekend of 17 to 20 March 2016, LITFEST is Lancashire’s annual celebration of literature and there are plenty of events for the whole family across the weekend, so make sure that you get involved.
Now in it’s 37th year, LITFEST develops writers, engages readers and audiences, and celebrates literary excellence. The first ever LITFEST took place in 1978 and it has a focus on publishing developments and participatory projects. Take the whole family along to the heart of Lancashire to get involved in the plethora of cultural and creative activity that will be dotted across Lancashire during the weekend.
Highlights of the weekend include a discussion and controversy evening, a Literary Lancashire book launch, a SciFi evening, a poetry day and a storytelling day.
Finding the festival couldn’t be simpler; from our Easirent branch in Preston town centre, take the B6243 through Knowle Green and it will take you less than 30 minutes to reach Lancaster.
Tickets for the Lancashire LITFEST 2016 are £8 for standard entry and £6 for concessions. There will be plenty of places to park up your Easirent hire car once you arrive, so that you needn’t worry while you enjoy the festival.
