Hop in your Easirent hire car and head to the Holiday Inn Preston for an evening of French wine tasting. The course, which is run by the Lancashire Wine School, is the perfect post-Christmas pick-me-up for any wine lover and takes place in the Preston Hotel on 26 January 2016.
France is renowned for producing some of the most famous wines in the world and even gave birth to the iconic Burgundy and Champagne varieties. But of course, it’s telling the difference between the different grapes and the different regions that really helps you to distinguish a good bottle of wine from a great bottle of wine.
That’s where the Lancashire Wine School steps in. The Lancashire Wine School’s ‘World of Wine’ course will take you on a virtual tour of the myriad French vineyards through tasting alone. Learn the difference between a Merlot and a Pinot Noir or a Chardonnay and a Chenin Blanc. Impress your friends with your new-found knowledge of the difference between the regions of Bordeaux, the Rhone Valley and the Loire and teach them about the history of the region to producing some of the most famous wines in the world.
Make sure that you have a designated driver for the evening; the course takes two hours and begins on 26 January 2016 at 19:00. Prices for the event are £25 per person and it is recommended that you book in advance to avoid disappoint as the course is very popular.
