The Car Hire Liverpool Airport branch staff love the festive time of year and are delighted with what will be on offer during this period in their city.
The lights have been put up in Liverpool ready for the Christmas season, with the countdown not far away. With Halloween and Bonfire Night still to happen it could well be to early for thinking about Christmas just yet, but for those who like to plan ahead there are some dates to go in the diary for the festive season.
The Christmas lights switch on will be at around 6pm on Friday 7th November, with the Christmas tree on Church Street switched on the 20th November. The continental market opens on Lord Street and Paradise Street on November 20thand runs until December 19th.
Williamson Square will host a food and craft village and St George’s Hall holds a Winter Arts Market on December 6th and 7th (10am-5pm), with stalls selling handmade jewellery, paintings, photography, cards and decorations.
The Ice Rink will be returning to Liverpool One. Open from November 7th to January 4th. Also on site is the UK’s only real ice slide, with a choice of two 30m runs, for adults and children. Opening hours are Sunday to Thursday, 11am-9pm with the last skate session at 8pm. Friday to Saturday, 11am-10pm, with the last skate session at 9pm.
This Christmas the city centre will become a frozen wonderland dotted with magical snowflakes. People can follow the Snowflake Trail to spot the different designs and look out for sculptures, light projections, street art and magical window displays. Thousands of trail maps will be available throughout the city centre and participants will be invited to solve clues, to be in with a chance of winning prizes.
This is just a small portion of what will be on offer in Liverpool this Christmas; search the local press for a more detailed what’s on guide.
