London Stansted Airport had experienced its busiest November of all time as over 1.7 million passengers travelled through the terminal, a figure which is up by 6.9% compared to November 2014. The previous November record was set in 2006 when 1.65 million passengers used the airport.
November 2015 also saw the highest load total for any November with 84.6% of all available seats occupied on every flight. Meaning that the total amount of passengers travelling through London Stansted Airport this year so far is 22.4 million – a rise of 13.6% over the previous 12 months.
Andrew Harrison, London Stansted Airport’s managing director commented on the Airport’s recent success:
“The busiest ever November at Stansted and a record breaking number of passengers on each flight once again demonstrates the significant progress that has been achieved at the airport since acquisition by MAG in 2013.
“There is now a real feeling of positivity and vibrancy about Stansted as well as a growing sense of momentum following 20 successive months of passenger growth and five million more passengers using the airport each year than in early 2013.
“Stansted has consistently been one of Europe’s fastest growing major airports over the last two years, and having already achieved a record breaking start to the winter season, I’m confident this strong growth trend to continue in the coming months.”
