It is considered a beautiful part of Europe and Car Hire Luton Airport think it is fantastic that a service to this destination will soon be departing from Luton.
There will be a new service from Luton Airport to Catania on Italy’s largest island Sicily. EasyJet will operate the service beginning on 30th March 2014 on a three flights a week basis on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
It lays on the eastern coast of Sicily, with breathtaking greenery, coastal views and beaches which are dominated by Europe’s largest active volcano, Mount Etna. Tourists also flock to the nearby medieval town of Taormina for its beautiful views and Siracus another tourist hotspot further inland.
Around 20,000 passengers are estimated to fly between the two destinations each year, with over one million seats on sale across easyJet’s network for the period of its summer 2014 schedule.
Hugh Aitken, easyJet UK Commercial Manager said, “We’re delighted to be adding Catania, Sicily to easyJet’s growing network of year-round destinations from London Luton Airport. With fares available from as little as £40.49 we’re sure that the new services will prove extremely popular. Italy is rapidly becoming the destination of choice for generation easyJet travellers who are looking for a city, beach or ski break and we’re providing an easy and affordable way to do that throughout the year.”
