It is great that there is the opportunity for businesses to aquire funding to help them develop and compete, with Car Hire Luton Airport announcing the first to be awarded some money from a new grant scheme.
A business in Luton has secured £20,000 by winning a share of the new £2.5 million Grants4Growth subsidy pot. Sheet metal and fabrication firm Islebest Ltd employ 32 people and will be using the grant to buy a Trumf laser cutting machine.
Grants4Growth provide money for businesses to invest in new technology and equipment, creating and safeguarding jobs, improving their efficiency and reducing carbon footprint. It is a free grants programme for small and medium sized businesses, including both capital and revenue grants.
Paul Burchmore, managing director of Islebest, said, “The Grants4Growth funding will enable us to actively pursue a 15 per cent annual sales increase and create four additional jobs. The process for obtaining the grant was straightforward and quick.”
