The wait is almost over and Car Hire Luton Airport will be cheering on their team at kick-off on Saturday.
The current squad at Luton Town is better than the team of 2011, according to new signing Andy Drury plus they can help towards the clubs ascent towards the Championship,
It may take a few years to get there, but the club is looking forward to playing their maiden game in the Football League for five years, away to Carlisle on Saturday.
Drury said, “Looking at it from pre-season over the last four or five weeks, we’ve got a very strong squad, stronger than what we had last time. We had a good team last time I was here but there were just a few areas that we needed more quality in. This time we’ve got a big squad to cover everything so it will be a good season.”
There is also a potential extra pressure as Luton has been tipped as one of the promotion candidates this season. The midfielder will be central to those ambitions, not least because he’ll operate at the heart of the team, a change of position that came about after his switch to Portman Road three years ago.
