Car Hire Manchester Airport can’t believe the prediction announced by the airport recently but just hope that it does happen after strong numbers of travellers have been going through the terminals at the airport over the last few months.
It is widely predicted at Manchester Airport that they will hit the target of twenty one million passengers this summer to record the highest total for seven years. The prediction has been revealed after more than 1.6 million passengers travelled through the airport during April, eleven per cent more than the same time last year.
The summer season began in April, plus the Easter break was late meaning lots of flight bookings, with some of the top destinations including Orlando, Barbados, Las Vegas and Doha. Plus Manchester Airport has announced some new destinations including a non-stop flight to Hong Kong courtesy of Cathy Pacific launching in December 2014.
Also budget airline Ryanair boosted its services to existing routes to Dublin, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga and Tenerife all in time for the holiday dash.
Ken O’Toole, chief commercial officer for MAG, owner of Manchester Airport, said, “April was an incredibly exciting month for Manchester Airport. Not only are we experiencing a resurgence in passenger numbers, we’re seeing the fruition of some incredibly hard work behind the scenes to continue Manchester Airport’s growth, which sees it remain the third largest airport in the UK and the gateway to the North of England. Securing the Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong means Manchester will be the only airport outside of London to have a non-stop, direct service to China. It’s a deal which will create new jobs and stimulate economic growth in the north of England.”
