It is a great idea, which will be used by the staff at Car Hire Manchester Airport once the app is available for their area.
An app has been created by a resident of Manchester which automatically reminds users which bin to put out the night before a collection. David Levine wants to build programmes for every borough of Greater Manchester, but has already launched in Salford.
The 37-year-old of Shortbite Consulting said “The Salford Recycling Reminder app finally puts an end to the nightmare of remembering what goes in what bin and when the next bin collection is. Very often bins get rejected when people put the wrong things in it. I’m passionate about changing what is a huge problem. I think the app, which has just launched in the Android and Apple stores, will do well.”
He added “It’s a simple idea but a very powerful concept which solves a real problem, with people not remembering which bin has to go out the next day and what goes in which bin. There is a great deal of interest in Salford and we’re currently working on a new app for Bury which will be launched soon. Our bin at home is stuffed every single week. And like I say, bins won’t be collected if I get it slightly wrong. The app is not a leaflet, like councils do provide, you won’t lose it as it will be on your phone.”
