This is only good news for the staff at Car Hire Edinburgh Airport, finding out that the airport they serve is just getting busier month on month.
Edinburgh Airport continues to grow at a rapid pace as an announcement has revealed more new routes and additional airlines. It has flown past some of its rivals in recent years and more than ten million passengers are expected through its doors this year.
With three brand new routes and two new airlines it is a great time of growth at Edinburgh Airport, with the capital opened up to far away destinations such as Chicago, Philadelphia, Doha, Ibiza and Zurich. The North American routes offer Scottish passengers access to more than 1,000 destinations across the US, with Doha opening routes on to Australian hubs in Perth and Melbourne.
Chief executive Gordon Dewar said, “We set out to be the place where Scotland meets the world and these new routes go towards that. They open up many more destinations for Scots and will allow many more visitors to come to our country this summer be it for the Edinburgh Festival, the Ryder Cup or the Commonwealth Games. We must thank the hard work of all parties involved in helping bring these new services to Scotland. It truly has been a Team Scotland effort and a journey we’ve been very proud to been part of.”
The bosses of the airport have set the target of another bumper year and with these new routes, plus it being the Year of Homecoming, The Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup it could be even better than they predict.
