The 2016 CAMRA National Winter Ales Festival has chosen the beautiful surrounds of Derby’s Roundhouse for its next festival. Running between 17th and 20th February, CAMRA and their festival volunteers will take over the Roundhouse and offer up a diverse range of standout ales from around the UK. This is the third year of the National Winter Ales Festival and will showcase a huge selection of the finest beers from Derby’s own micro-breweries as well as flavours from around the UK. Alongside the ales which take centre stage there will be perries, ciders and meads, as well as a smattering of continental beers to enjoy.
Ale connoisseurs and CAMRA members won’t want to miss out and the Roundhouse is easy to reach from airport. Simply pick up your Easirent hire car and drive the less than twenty minute route down to Derby. Once there you can find parking near the Roundhouse and enjoy your fair share of the fantastic ales and the spirit of the festival.
At least 400 real ales will be available at the festival, spanning all categories from mild to bitters, strong bitters to golden ales and speciality beers. There will also be the esteemed competition where CAMRA will judge their Champion Winter Beer of Britain, with four categories up for grabs and there will be a specific East Midlands Champion Winter Beer Competition too. On-site there will be four separate brewery bars and a selection of live musicians and bands have been booked to ensure the event is entertaining and enjoyable, as well as thirst-quenching.
