The Car Hire Birmingham Airport branch hope all the new signings can make a positive impact and believe the manager will have a better season this time.
Not playing in League One for the coming season for new Birmingham signing David Cotterill is a relief after Lee Clark got his signature. The Wales international signed on a Bosman for the Blues, and Cotterill said, “The manager has been looking at me for a while. Last summer I got linked to the club but nothing materialised. There was talk even when he was at Huddersfield but it never happened then either. I’m just happy it’s now over the line and that I’ve joined a great club like Birmingham.”
The former Doncaster player is pleased to have signed and it was down to what the manager believes in that was an important factor in the move to the Midlands club. He added, “I’ve heard he is passionate about his football. I think that’s important. He’s been a player, he wants to win and he wants to win now. He wants his players to work and give 100 per cent for the club, that’s a good thing. He had a big influence in me coming here. Birmingham is a great club, everyone knows that. It was the manager’s ideas that convinced me, though. He said he wanted to bring in fresh players and he was looking forward to the future.”
It has been a good trip to Ireland for the club at the training camp last week, with a 3-0 win for them in the opening friendly against Cork City.
