Glasgow Airport has teamed up with Europe’s leading airline, easyJet to launch a new route between the Scottish airport and Milan Malpensa. The route which will operate on a year round basis, and is expected to carry 26,000 passengers annually will be Glasgow Airport’s first route to the Spanish capital.
The flights which were launched earlier this month, operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays with fares starting from £25.49 one way per person.
Paul White, business development manager for Glasgow Airport commented on the new route:
“Milan is a fantastic new addition to the wide range of European cities easyJet serves from Glasgow, and we are excited to be bringing this brand new route to our customers.
“Milan and Glasgow have many things in common – as well as being economic powerhouses the two cities enjoy a fantastic reputation for being fashion capitals. Not only will this new route provide Scottish passengers with the opportunity to visit one of Europe’s top citybreak destinations, it has huge potential to generate significant in-bound tourism for Glasgow and the West of Scotland. We have enjoyed tremendous success in strengthening our links with European cities this year, and look forward to working with easyJet to continue the airline’s growth at Glasgow Airport.”
