This is something that all will enjoy as Car Hire Birmingham Airport know everybody enjoyed playing with Lego when they were young and think this show that has been created using it is fantastic.
Lego bricks have been used by a Birmingham photographer to recreate some of the most iconic images including the first moon landing. Mike Stimpson from Kings Heath has created these never-to-be-forgotten moments in a dedicated show of his work.
The 39 year old is a Lego and Star Wars fanatic and has created images such as the classic 1932 picture of 11 workmen eating lunch on a girder high above New York and the iconic Athena tennis girl poster from the 1970’s.
He said, “I was born in the 1970s, so I grew up with Star Wars and Lego. Like many boys born around that time, I’m still a massive Star Wars geek and I love taking photos of the Lego Star Wars sets. It’s like the two best things combined. It’s great to be bringing some of the iconic photographs that I love to a new audience.”
By trade he is a video games programmer, but has shown his work in America and Australia in the past and discovered his love of photography about seven years ago. His exhibition runs at the Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham’s Temple Row West from November 1 to December 21.
