The team at Car Hire Luton Airport are pleased with the policy of the manager at Luton Town, giving a chance to players lower down the football pyramid.
New Luton Town signing Curtley Williams wants to repay the faith manager John Still has shown in him. The chief of Luton has been an admirer of Williams and tempted him away from Ryman Premier League play-off winners Lowestoft Town a few weeks ago.
Williams said of his move, “I came to Luton and met with John and Terry. John put on my lap a few match reports from throughout the season and scouts who had come and watched me. It was quite weird to read that the match reports were about me, and from there, John just said he really liked what he saw, offered me the contract and I snapped his hand off. He’s shown a lot of faith in me, Terry as well and I just want to thank them and prove to myself as well they were right.”
Curtley has even given up his job in a local gym to sign for the Hatters and also received advice from former Luton defender Dan Gleeson who now plays for Lowestoft, about the move. It just goes to continue the faith John Still puts in giving unknown talent from the lower leagues a chance at a professional level.
