The team at Car Hire Manchester Airport think the new retailer at the airport could take off and be a real success, as it has opened at a perfect time just before family holiday season.
Manchester Airport is the new home of a toy and gadget retailer as its first UK shop, with the creation of six new jobs. Placed in terminal one’s departure lounge, Wizz was established in the United Arab Emirates housing stores at Dubai Airport and Dubai Mall.
Nigel Caddick, managing director at Wizz said, “Manchester Airport is known as a world class facility with great links around the world and therefore seemed the ideal location for our first UK store. The brand is well known in the UAE so passengers travelling with Emirates will identify with Wizz instantly. We’re really excited to be here, and have been working closely with Manchester Airport over the last couple of weeks to get the shop open and running before the summer peak season. I hope this is just the start for us in the UK as our aim is to expand into other airports.”
The company offers a range of games, toys, entertainment gadgets and gizmos for children aged between three to ten years old. It also has branches in Australia and launched a store in Dublin eighteen months ago, which was its first European shop.
Steve Foster, head of retail at Manchester Airports Group, said “From our research with passengers, it’s been clear that families want a dedicated shop for children providing a wide range of toys and gadgets to keep children entertained while both waiting for flights and on the on flight. It’s appealing to both our younger customers and their families, with a wide range of child friendly products at an affordable price.”
