It is great for those living near the airport, according to the staff at Car Hire Gatwick Airport as they reveal the increase in the boundaries for noise grants.
House owners in Kent, Sussex and Surrey are now eligible to claim noise insulation grants it has been confirmed by Gatwick Airport. This means these residents can receive grants of up to £3,000 to put towards double glazing and loft insulation.
The boundary for the proposal has been extended by around ten miles to the east and west of the airport. Gatwick Airport chief Stewart Wingate said, “We understand that the public’s tolerance to noise is much lower than it was, which is why we are now extending our noise insulation scheme.”
The programme will begin on the 1st April for the extended areas, plus Gatwick Airport has unveiled a new platform and concourse at a cost of £53m, which means fast trains from London Bridge and Victoria to travel through its railway station faster. It had its official opening by transport minister Baroness Kramer.
