Car Hire Manchester Airport branch are hopeful the organisations who have been awarded a grant, use their money wisely.
Manchester Airport is putting £340,000 to six organisations as the airport looks at arts sponsorship this year. The six organisations who will benefit are Bridgewater Hall, the Halle, The Lowry, Royal Exchange, Feelgood Theatre and Manchester International Festival.
Manchester Airports Group who own the airport has now 25 years of arts support with Sarah Brookes, from MAG, saying, “Our approach has been to support a range of schemes – from high profile organisations to smaller community initiatives – and to promote art forms to those who would not normally have access to them. We firmly believe that a healthy theatre and arts scene supports inbound tourism and investment, and we are proud to support such a vibrant cultural community.”
Julia Fawcett OBE, chief executive at The Lowry, said “MAG has been with us from the beginning. Their commitment to supporting our mission to bring the very best of art, dance, music and drama to the region has been unwavering and we are incredibly proud of our association with them.”
To celebrate there are dancers from The Lowry in a gallery of images across Manchester Airport.
