Easirent Preston Car and Van Hire like the look of what the new building will look like if the plan gets the go ahead to be built.
The green light is believed to be given to a new teaching building at Preston College on its Fulwood campus. The college has applied to create a new £13 million Science and Technology building, with modifications to the plan to not knock down three of the existing buildings.
In a statement to the city council it says, “The original proposal included the demolition of three existing educational buildings to form two areas of open space within the College grounds. Following the response received from Greater Manchester Ecology the applicant has removed this element of the development from the application in order to enable them to carry out further ecology surveys on those buildings when the surveying season begins later in the year.”
The new plan has received some objection from local residents who consider the reduction in car parking spaces would result in people using the college parking on nearby residential roads. In response Lancashire County Council disagrees, thinking the reduced parking space would not have a severe impact on the local road system. The plans are to be discussed at the city council planning committee meeting on 28th April at 10am.
