Car Hire Glasgow Airport will be cheering all the Scottish athletes taking part in the Commonwealth Games this summer and are pleased with the dedication of some of them in their training.
There will be three runners representing Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the women’s marathon on 27th July. Freya Ross, Hayley Haining and Susan Partridge will be competing to give the home nation somebody to shout for in the event.
Freya Ross said, “They’re hard to compare but competing in a home Olympics was pretty special. I want to be competitive and at the front of the field. Ideally that would mean finishing top of the Britons, but that’s a big goal given how tough my Scottish opposition is and of course the Kenyans will be strong.”
Ross sustained an injury in the Great Edinburgh run last month and praised the Scottish Institute of Sport for the medical back-up she has received to make it possible to compete at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Plus some opportunities to take part in high altitude have given her an extra boost to feel good ahead of the event.
