The Scottish International Storytelling Festival is a huge celebration organised in the city of festivals, Edinburgh. It brings together the stories of many different cultures and communities and it includes a huge programme of events which is spread over 10 days. The Scottish Storytelling Festival is mainly held at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh, with select events at other locations.
The Scottish International Storytelling Festival is a chance to harness and enjoy the true power of stories and how they can be used for good. The festival’s agenda includes raising awareness and creating excitement around the traditional art of storytelling as well as bringing together the stories of many different cultures including different parts of Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and of course Scotland. The theme for the 2015 festival is Stories Without Borders and it is taking place from 23rd October until 1st November.
The festival is bringing the stories of people from around the world to Edinburgh and includes a wide range of storytelling sessions as well as walks, tours, trails and workshops. There are special sessions for children and both indoor and outdoor events with the Royal Botanic Garden providing a home for a number of events throughout the festival.
Visiting Edinburgh for the International Storytelling Festival or enjoying one of the many events during your time in the city is completely hassle-free. The Scottish Storytelling Centre and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh are centrally located so picking up your hire car from Easirent Edinburgh and then driving the 20-30 minutes into the city from the airport is no trouble at all.
