If you’re in the East Midlands for Hallowe’en, make sure you pay a visit to Screamfest at the National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton on Trent. Running for 11 nights in October from 16 to 31, every evening from 7pm to 11pm sees a fang-tastic line-up of spooky Hallowe’en fun.
Test your aim down at the farm for Hillbilly Joe’s Zombie Paintball Shootout – take on teams of the undead and repel them with a trusty paintball gun. Or try five of the spookiest attractions for a fright night you’ll never forget. The Night Bringer searches for the answer to the ultimate question – is there life after death? – while Freakout brings the circus and its creepy clowns back to town. Try your best to avoid the infestation at Nocturnal – you’ll find it hard to discover if you’re the hunter or the hunted, while Children of the Corn relives the nightmare of a terrifying childhood. If you’re still feeling brave after those frights, the Soul Seekers TV crew will be investigating blood curdling happenings at the abandoned Grand Hotel.
With the evening’s thrills promising side shows and street theatre, you’ll be entertained by fire jugglers, still walkers and fire eaters while you see if you can stomach some of the farm’s fiendish food and drink. There’s even a fancy dress competition, with prizes for the best Hallowe’en costumes. Please be advised that this is a super-scary event, and not recommended for children under the age of 12. Under 14s won’t be admitted without an adult of 18 or over.
The National Forest Farm is best accessed by car, and has a large free car park. If you’re planning on driving to the event, hire a car from our Easirent depot in East Midlands Airport, a half hour drive from the National Forest Adventure Farm and Tatenhill.
