The new uniform that has been released for airport staff is a bold move in terms of colour, as Car Hire Gatwick Airport can reveal that not all think it was the right choice.
A new uniform has been released at Gatwick Airport for staff, which the airport says will make them feel proud to work there. With stylish apparel considered nothing new, as high in the air as Vivienne Westwood designed Virgin Atlantic uniform earlier this year, less consideration could be considered for the appearance of airport workers.
With some exhaustive consultations, which overall lasted a year to help boost the airports brand identity and make sure it keeps improving customer service and the passenger experience as a whole. The outfits will be worn by upward of 1,400 workers and were fashioned by Jermyn Street Design who specialise in corporate clothing. The colour scheme of turquoise and purple has been aimed at being stand out, unique, fun and modern. Although fashion writer Bibby Sowray was not so complimentary, she said, “I can see what they were trying to do with the grey dress on the middle woman. It’s a simple, flattering-for-most style and the grey colour is inoffensive. However, the guy looks like he’s about to go on a night out in Essex, thanks to the contrasting collars and cuffs on the shirt.”
