Noise is always going to be a problem at concert for residents living locally, but Car Hire Glasgow Airport like that the organisers have kept in contact with them so everybody knows what is going on.
There are detailed plans in place in a bid to avoid residents being disrupted by two outdoor gigs in Glasgow. The Summer Sessions in Bellahouston Park attracted over 100,000 music fans last year.
Local residents complained about public drunkenness and noise, with some people living eight miles away saying they could hear the concert by US hip hop star Eminem.
This year, organisers are determined to avoid the problems reported last summer. A number of meetings have already been held with community councils surrounding the South Side Park.
Alistair Watson, the council’s land and environment spokesman, said “The Summer Sessions provided a significant boost to our economy last year. Not only does this reinforce Glasgow’s music credentials, it also builds further on our reputation for delivering major events. Last year I guaranteed we would work extensively with the local community to ensure they play a central role in the planning of future Summer Sessions events. The council and DF Concerts have already carried out three engagement events and these neighbourhood zones will help us to further work in tandem with residents. Detailed planning has gone into making this the best Summer Sessions ever.”
