The Staff at Car Hire Edinburgh Airport are not that shocked to find out that their city is one of the most congested in the UK during peak times.
A survey has revealed Edinburgh is the UK’s third most congested city. At peak times on the roads it can take up to one-third longer than it would when traffic is free flowing.
Plus drivers who try and take short-cuts also known as ‘rat runs’, to avoid queues in the rush hour are not making their journeys shorter, but more likely to make them longer.
The report also highlighted that traffic jams in British cities are getting worse, with average journeys in 2013 taking 27% longer in rush hour traffic compared to free-flowing traffic, compared to 26% in 2012.
