Billy Connolly, best known for being one of the best comedians to come out of the United Kingdom in recent decades is coming to Glasgow to showcase his artwork from 28 August 2015 to 18 February 2016. Not many people know that Billy Connolly is in fact an artist in his own right, and his art work will be on display in the People’s Palace and Winter Gardens in Glasgow City Centre, and is completely free of charge to visit.
Pick up your Easirent hire car from our Glasgow city depot and take a trip to see The Art of Billy Connolly. The exhibition brings together lots of different objects from Glasgow’s museums collection including the famous banana boots and the guitar made from a White Horse Whisky Box.
Billy Connolly describes his art as being meditative and that his takes inspiration from being alone with a blank page. His art has received critical acclaim, and his paintings, which include faceless characters and anonymous subjects who are devoid of emotion and expression have been a hit with visitors to the exhibition.
If you’re in Glasgow, then this is a must see exhibition, and the People’s Palace and Winter Gardens is the only other space outside of London that the exhibition will be shown.
