Pick up your Easirent hire car from our Bristol Airport depot and head to Bristol Zoo for a day of family fun. This summer, the zoo is home to 13 huge animatronic bugs, that are incredibly lifelike.
Open to the public until Sunday 6 September 2015, the Big Bugs at Bristol Zoo Gardens is a spectacle not to be missed. Some of the world’s most popular species of creepy crawlies have been included in the exhibition such as the seven spot ladybird, the African bombardier beetle, the Mexican red-kneed tarantula, the say’s firefly, the stag beetle and the red-tailed bumblebee.
These incredible bugs have been brought to life through state-of-the-art technology and animatronics, and children and adults alike are invited to get up close and personal with their favourite bugs. Experience the bugs as they move, hiss and even spray water at unsuspecting visitors.
Children are invited to join Vinnie and Dotty, the zoo’s Bug Rangers as they set off on the Big Bug Trail looking for different species of insects, and learning how to care for different types of bugs on the way. The zoo has even created a specialised app to use as guests search for the bugs; make sure you download the Bug Ranger’s Augmented Reality app before you go, to experience the creepy crawlies in all of their glory.
The exhibition is open every day and entry is included with the Bristol Zoo admission fee.
