Pick up your Easirent hire car from London Gatwick Airport and head to The City of London Festival 2015. The festival, which has run annually since 1962, celebrates art and culture through an extensive artistic programme, until 10th July 2015.
Showcasing some of the best names in comedy, music, cabaret and art, the festival will feature over 100 free events in spaces across the capital.
Originally founded as an independent trust supported by London’s business community, The City of London Festival has blossomed into one of the UK’s leading cultural events and is extensively covered across the BBC.
Just one of the prestigious spaces that will accommodate the acts at this year’s festival is the magnificent St. Paul’s Cathedral. The architecturally stunning Baroque church will be home to various orchestral concerts during the festival. Don’t miss the London Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Haydn’s The Creation, which is sure to delight audiences of all ages. On 2nd July head to the cathedral for a special performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers, by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
If comedy is more your thing, then make sure you head to ClubTEN and The Grange Hotel, for a whole host of stand up comedy, cabaret and fringe theatre. The Bowler Hat Theatre, a unique performance space, has been assembled to accommodate many of the acts during the festival.
Celebrate 50 years of Singapore’s independence with myriad events including film screenings and special performances throughout the festival.
