Are you a fan of art? Then make sure to pick up your Easirent hire car from our London Stansted Airport depot and head to the ‘EY Exhibition: The World Goes Pop’ at the Tate Modern. Standing proud on London’s Southbank, the Tate Modern, part of the Tate group, is one of the world’s most important galleries for modern and contemporary art and is only a one hour drive in your Easirent hire car from London Stansted Airport.
The exhibition tells the story of how Pop Art gained traction with a global audience during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Often considered to be a celebration of Western commercial culture, Pop Art was in fact a global phenomenon which took root in areas of the world including, Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
The ‘EY Exhibition: The World Goes Pop’ is the culmination of a research project which left no stone unturned in the search for how myriad cultures contributed to the famous art movement’s global success. Visitors to the gallery can view the exhibition from 17 September 2015 to 24 January 2016.
For a long time it has been assumed that it was Western culture that caused the movement to proliferate in the second half of the 20th Century, when actually Pop Art was prevalent in many different countries as a vehicle for public protest.
The exhibition will include over 200 works of art, which have never been seen before in the United Kingdom. Visitors can buy tickets online at £14.50 for an adult and £12.70 for a child.
