The new arena is complete and now it has the lights brightening the sky and surrounding area. Car Hire Glasgow Airport is gearing up to the opening concert for the venue on Monday.
The new Hydro building which will be the showpiece for live events in Glasgow and is the largest arena in the country holding 13,000 people has now switched its lights on.
After the announcement that everything was complete and the relevant certificates were all sorted the building, which is built next the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), lit up in shades of blue, green and purple from its external walls.
The opening concert on Monday 30th September is when Rod Stewart will welcome members of the public inside for the first time. Te venue will be used for concerts and other live shows, with around 140 events taking place each year, having the aim of being one of the world’s top five busiest in-door arenas.
