It’s set to be a spectacular summer for sport, with the Women’s Football World Cup in full swing and the Wimbledon Championships just around the corner, the Rugby World Cup will be kicking off at the end of July, and you’ll have the chance to be part of the action this summer in Manchester.
On 10th October 2015, the Rugby World Cup will be making its way to Manchester, with England v Uruguay battling it out in a final group match at the Manchester City Stadium.
Even though tickets for the match itself have sold out, you’ll still have the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere; head to the official Rugby World Cup Fanzone in Albert Square, and enjoy all of the action as it’s live streamed to thousands on the big screen. The Fanzone, which is a free event, will be open for three days throughout the sporting period. Big enough to accommodate 8,000 spectators, the Fanzone will be open from 9th to 11th October and will also live stream other Rugby World Cup group stage matches.
Inside the Fanzone, you’ll find plenty of things to keep you entertained, including food and drink stalls that will be offering the best local and homemade food, and plenty of rugby activities for all the family to enjoy.
And the fun doesn’t stop there, if you can’t make it to the Rugby World Cup, then be sure to head to Manchester from 25th – 27th July and see the Web Ellis Cup as it passes through the city as part of its 75 day tour.
