As part of its 100 day tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, the Web Ellis Cup will be visiting Newcastle City Centre on Sunday 1 August 2015, as part of the build up to the Rugby World Cup.
A huge sporting event in any rugby fans calendar, the Rugby World Cup will be kicking off in September and the web Ellis Cup Trophy Tour will offers fans the chance to get up close and personal with the trophy, before the opening ceremony.
Hop in your Easirent hire car and head to Grey’s Monument in Newcastle City Centre on Sunday 1 August, where you can see the Web Ellis Cup fr yourself between 17:00 and 19:00. Accompanying the cup will be representatives from the Trophy Tour, and you could event get to meet some famous faces. The free event forms part of the 100 day tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, which so far has seen the cup pass through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England as it makes its way down to Twickenham Stadium in time for the opening ceremony on 18 September 2015.
Throughout its journey, the Trophy Tour has engaged with thousands of rugby fans from over 100 clubs, organisations and festivals, from grass-roots teams to elite level teams.
On day 52 of its tour, the Web Ellis Cup will be on display at the Newcastle Falcons 2015 Beach Festival from 11:00 – a family event that will include music, BBQs and games of touch rugby on the beach. From here it will make its way into Newcastle City Centre, where you will be able to spot it from 17:00 onwards.
