Europe’s largest multi-arts and conference venue, Barbican is a centre for performing arts and creative learning events and is the home of the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra.
From 27 October 2015 to 3 February 2016 Barbican Centre is showcasing an exhibition on the pioneering work of Charles and Ray Eames. The couple, who are known for their major contributions in modern architecture and furniture, are considered two of the most significant designers of the last century.
The exhibition will show the Charles and Ray Eames’ work in the fields of graphics, architecture, furniture, film, sculpture and photography with highlights including a moulded plastic chair and a plywood nose cone produced for a military aircraft.
Approximately an hour’s drive from Easirent’s London Heathrow branch, Barbican Centre is within the congestion charge zone, however there is no charge to pay weekends, public holidays, between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day inclusive, or between 6:00pm to 7:00am on weekdays.
Tickets to The World of Charles and Ray Eames start from £8 for 14 to 17 year olds, £14 for adults and concession tickets are from £12. Parking is available at the Barbican and spaces can be booked in advance.
Barbican Centre is a short drive from the British Museum and St Paul’s Cathedral. When staying in the Capital, consider a day trip out of the city and visit Easirent’s top attractions outside London.
