Car Hire Glasgow Airport are very keen to find out who will be taking over at the airport, as the power struggle between the airports in the area increases.
With the ownership of Glasgow Airport likely to change in the very near future, the clash for airlines and routes with rivals is an almost certainty. The airport will be keeping a close eye on Prestwick, who are owned by the Scottish Government and finding out what plans they have.
Now there could well be changes at Glasgow Airport, with Spanish infrastructure group Ferrovial proposing a bid for a number of airports including Glasgow. Also it has come to light that Strathclyde Pension Fund is planning a bid, meaning there are some potential exciting times ahead for the airport, which enjoyed its busiest year in terms of passenger numbers in 5 years in 2013.
Almost 7.4m passengers used Glasgow Airport in 2013, an increase of 2.9% on 2012 and it seems that the airport is in a recovery phase from the recent years previous where the airport suffered to the financial downturn.
