It is set to be another brilliant festival and Car Hire Edinburgh Airport encourage everybody to go and see at least one show if they can.
The world’s biggest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is soon to be under way with thousands of performers from across the world arriving. More than 3,000 shows will be staged across nearly 300 venues, with the event facing competition for audiences over the weekend from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Fringe organisers have said the sporting event seemed to be having no ill effect upon ticket sales at the box office. Lots of new venues will feature during August, to accommodate the biggest line-up the festival has seen. Famous names taking part in the event include Dame Diana Rigg, Jeremy Paxman, Glen Matlock and Clive Anderson.
The space is tight and every performer is treated equally, with many new unknown performers of who are largely amateurs will be taking to temporary stages across Edinburgh over the next three-and-a-half weeks.
There are some new changes for this year, with a new responsive ticketing system allowing visitors to create their own calendar of events and audiences will be able to post reviews directly onto the fringe website.
