If you’re heading to London on a budget, then you’ll want to know all of the places to grab a cheap bite to eat while you’re there. Here at Easirent, our savvy team have narrowed it down to our favourite cheap food spots.
1. Cafe TPT
Located in Chinatown in central London, Cafe TPT is a simple, cafe style eatery that ffers up delicious and flavoursome Cantonese style dishes. Make sure that you try out the seafood dishes while you’re there as these are a real hit with the locals. The cafe is open all day until 1am, and there is plenty to choose from on the menu.
2. Clockjack Oven
Located in Picadilly Circus in central London, this diner has mastered the art of the perfect fried chicken. Clockjack Oven is a stripped back Soho eatery that is the perfect place to grab a cheap bite to eat before one of your favourite West End shows.
3. Arancini Factory
Pick up your Easirent hire car from our London Luton Airport branch and head to the stylish Kentish Town to taste some of the best arancini balls around. This retro style cafe, serves up fresh, locally sourced produce, and is the ideal pre-gig bite to eat.
4. Black Axe Mangal
Fans of heavy metal will love this place. Neatly tucked away in a corner of Canonbury in North London, Black Axe Mangal is a kebab house that whips up delicious chargrilled offal and flavoursome meat dishes. Make sre that you try the chilli spiced Bakken special while you’re there!
5. Chick N. Sours
Located in East London, Chick N. Sours is a fried chicken pop-up eatery that is run by enthusiast Carl Clarke. Specialising in Southern style chicken dishes fried in buttermilk, diners can wash it all down with a delicious coktail.
6. Hornbeam Cafe
The Hornbeam Cafe offers wholesome veggie dishes that are sure to delight both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. With an ever changing daily specials board, all of the food that you see on the menu has been locally grown.
7. Cafe East
Located in Rotherhithe in South London, Cafe East specialises in Asian cuisine. If you’re heading to this little gem of a cafe, then make sure that you try the pho, which comes in a generous portion size and you might even get a few summer rolls on the side.
8. Meze Mangal
Meze Mangal is a Turkish eatery that offers some of the best value food in South London. Go along with a bunch of friends and get an affordable sharing platter jam packed with fresh pide and grilled meat.
9. 101 Thai kitchen
Located in West London, 101 Thai Kitchen serves up great value, authentic Thai food. This no-frills-attached little eatery makes a delicious papaya salad.
10. La Gatta
This delicious little pizzeria is located in West London and is a hit with both locals and tourists alike. Choose from an array of thin, crispy, delicious pizzas, or go for the star of the menu – the deep fried pizza served with passata and mozzarella.
