If you’re heading to London and you’re bringing the kids along with you, then you won’t be stuck for ways to keep them entertained as the capital is brimming with exciting activities for children of all ages. Pick up your Easirent hire car from our London Kings Cross branch and pay a visit to some of our favourite places to take the little ones.
1. City Farms in London
All children love to pay a visit to the farm, and unfortunately in a city such as London, there aren’t that many opportunities to drive out into the rolling countryside, however there are quite a few urban green spaces with plenty of cute animals to keep the whole family entertained. Hackney City Farm is nestled in the heart of Hackney, and has something to keep both adults and children entertained; explore the farm which has plenty of cute animals including cows, goats and rabbits, or take a trip to the café which serves up fresh seasonal Mediterranean meals and delicious breakfasts. If you’re looking for a more educational farm experience, then take the kids along to the Stepney City Farm which is an entirely volunteer-run farm and craft centre, which has been situated in Bermondsey for over 30 years. Here, the children can take part in community growing workshops, blacksmithing and carpentry.
A haven for family members of all ages, Harrods is the world famous department store located in the London area of Knightsbridge. Famous for its teddy bears, Harrods also offers a children’s wonderland of toys and games that will keep them entertained all afternoon. Take a break from the toy shopping in one of the store’s 27 restaurants.
3. London Transport Museum
Take the kids back in time in the London Transport Museum, an interactive museum for all ages which has recently unveiled a new family play zone for children from birth to the age of seven. Included in the play zone is a fleet of mini vehicles for the children to play with, a tube station complete with lost property office and even musical instruments for the children to practice their busking with. How much more ‘London’ can you get?
4. Hoxton Street Monster Supplies
Part of the Ministry of Stories, the Hoxton Street Monster Supplies is an educational initiatve designed by professional writers who mentor young people in the art of storytelling. Pick up your Easirent hire car and head to the Hoxton Street Monster Supplies for a day of unmissable fun for the little ones.
5. Coram’s Fields
If you’ve had a long day of sightseeing in your Easirent hire car and you want to let the children have some fun in the city, then head to Coram’s Fields in Bloomsbury, which is one of the city’s most child-friendly open spaces. The children can explore the beautiful walled gardens and play in the enormous sandpit, while you can just sit back and relax.
