1. Pendle Hill
Long associated with witches and the supernatural, Pendle Hill is located just a 40 minute drive from our Easirent depot in Blackburn town centre. Situated in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Pendle Hill was the setting for the story of the Pendle witches, who were tried for witchcraft in the 17th century; nowadays, Pendle Hill is visited by a large number of tourists each year – especially on Halloween.
2. Morecambe Bay
Morecambe Bay is a large multiple estuary, which sees the rivers Leven, Kent, Wyre, Lune and Keer meet the Irish Sea. An important wildlife site, Morecambe Bay attracts thousands of visitors each year to witness the abundant marine life and bird life and to visit one of the bays many peninsulas, which are areas of natural beauty. Less than an hour’s drive from our Easirent hire car depot in Blackburn town centre, Morecambe Bay is famous for its rich cockle beds.
3. Smithills Hall
Located in Bolton, which is just 30 minutes drive from our Blackburn Easirent depot, Smithills Hall is a Grade I listed manor house – one of the oldest in the north west of England. With parts of the house dating back to pre 15th century England, the house is a hit with tourists from all over the country. Located in 120 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, Smithills Hall has featured on many television programmes, including Most Haunted and Great British Ghosts.
4. Nickelodeon Land
Situated in Pleasurebeach Blackpool, Nickelodeon Land is just a 40 minute drive in your Easirent hire car from our Blackburn city depot. Take the kids along for a day of unbeatable fun, inspired by their favourite television programmes. Go exploring in Dora’s World Voyage, which is a mini boat tub ride; or take a trip down the Rugrats’ Lost River, which is a log flume themed, of course, on the Rugrats. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the SpongeBob’s Splash Bash and take a journey on the Bikini Bottom Bus Tour.
5. West Pennine Moors
An area of 90 square miles of rolling moorlands, the West Pennine Moors are located less than 37 miles away from our Easirent hire car depot in Blackburn town centre. Noted for being an area of historical importance, the West Pennine Moors have evidence of Neolithic human activity and panoramic views across Lancashire. Take advantage of your hire car and make sure to head to the West Pennine Moors and spot some of the wildlife in its natural habitat.
