After a day of exploring all that Newcastle has to offer in your Easirent hire car, we wouldn’t blame you for wanting to stop off for a bit of rest and rejuvenation, and what better way to recharge the batteries than the perfect cup of coffee. Here at Easirent we have selected some of our favourite coffee shops in Newcastle for your to enjoy – thank us later.
1. Quay Ingredient
Voted the number one coffee shop in the whole of Newcastle on Trip Advisor, Quay Ingredient certainly sets the coffee standard in the northern city. This small hidden gem of a cafe is frequented by tourists and locals alike due to its delicious home-made food and speciality coffees. With an extensive, ever-evolving menu the Quay Ingredient prides itself on its ability to make a very good breakfast – combine that with the warm friendly atmosphere and they’re onto a winner.
2. Olive and Bean
Olive and Bean is located on Clayton Street in the heart of Newcastle city centre – just a short drive from our Easirent pick up point at Newcastle Airport. This stylish cafe and coffee shop serves up a wide range of food including bespoke sandwiches and an excellent afternoon tea.
3. Pink Lane Coffee
Located on, you guessed it, Pink Lane – Pink Lane Coffee is a firm favourite with the locals who visit the cafe to sample its fresh, locally sourced produce and home-made snacks. Centrally located in the heart of Newcastle city centre, the coffee shop specialises in a wide range of coffees and teas.
4. Flat Caps Coffee
This award winning coffee shop has been praised for its three different brewing methods; filter, aeropress and syphon. Oozing with character, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more atmospheric and friendly coffee shop in the city. If you’re not the biggest fan of coffee, then not to worry – Flat Caps Coffee are experts in all things tea, so you’ll definitely be able to find something to suit your tastes.
5. Coffee Beans
Pick up your Easirent hire car from our Newcastle Airport depot and head to Coffee Beans on Old Eldon Square in the heart of the city centre. This cosy coffee shop has a wide-ranging food and drink menu and the friendly team of staff provide an exceptional table service.
6. 9 Bar Coffee
Located on 100 Grey Street, 9 Bar Coffee is a quirky little coffee shop which sits atop its own bakery. Each morning, 9 Bar Coffee bakes its own sweet and savoury food, all made using the finest locally sourced ingredients, including piadinas, arancini, meatball sliders and spuntinos. We’ve heard that they make one of the best toasties in town – so we recommend that you head down and check it out for yourselves.
