1. Adlington Hall
Pick up your Easirent hire car from our Bootle city depot and head to Adlington Hall, which is 45 miles away by car. Easily reachable within one hour, Adlington Hall is nestled between the stunning Peak District and Alderley Edge. Occupying the space of a former hunting lodge for at least 500 years, the gardens that surround the house have been described as one of the most inventive and evocative Rococo gardens in Britain. Make sure that yo take a guided tour of the house, and you’ll catch a glimpse of the 17th century organ, which can be found in the Great Hall and was once played by Handel.
2. Tatton Park
Just a 50 minute drive away from our Easirent depot in Bootle, Tatton Park is one of the most impressive stately homes in the north of England. Nestled amongst 50 acres of stunning landscaped gardens, Tatton Park is a Neo-Classical mansion house designed by Samuel and Lewis Wyatt. There are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, including an adventure playground and plenty of wildlife living on the grounds to try and spot during your visit.
3. Arley Hall and Gardens
Arley Hall and Gardens is a perfect example of an early Victorian Jacoean-style mansion and is located in Knutsford in Cheshire. Built in 1833, the house took eight years to complete and is situated in 12 acre gardens which includes a stunning avenue of holm oak. Often described as some of the most beautiful gardens in Britain, Arley Hall and Gardens won the Christie’s Garden of the Year Award in 1987.
4. Peover Hall
Situated in a stunning 500 acres of landscaped 18th century parkland, Peover Hall is a Grade II listed Elizabethan House that dates back from 1585. Park up your Easirent hire car in the onsite car park and explore your lush green surroundings. Peover Hall is home to secret passageways, tpiary and a walled garden. Visitors can learn all about how the house was occupied by the United States 3rd Army during World War II in preparation for the D-Day Landings in 1944.
5. Cholmondeley Castle Gardens
Open to the public from March to September each year, Cholmodeley Castle Gardens are beautiful ornamental gardens that surround the neo-gothic Cholmondeley Castle. It takes just over an hour to drive to the castle from our Easirent depot in Bootle. Take the kids along for a day of fun in the Bug Hotel and the Den, where they can enjoy playing in the open spaces and they will get the chance to be creative with the nature around them.
6. Capesthorne Hall
Home of the Bromley Davenports since 1726, Capesthorne Hall is located just a short drive from Macclesfield and there is plenty to see and do while you’re there. Explore the impressive gardens, which include lakes and wodland, or take a tour around the houses interior which is home to an amazing collection of paintings, sculptures and porcelains.
