The capital of England offers a plethora of fun activities for all the family to enjoy. Pick up your Easirent hire car from our London Luton Airport depot and check out some of our favourite activities in North London.
1. Highgate Cemetery
Highgate cemetery is the resting places of many influential historical figures including Karl Marx and Douglas Adams. If you’re thinking of heading to Highgate, make sure that you’ve booked tickets to enter the West Cemetery as these can only purchased in advance, however access to the East Cemetery is £3 at the gate, so it won’t be a wasted journey if you have forgotten. Visit the grave of the father of socialism, Karl Marx, who’s headstone is topped with a casting of a sculpture of his head.
2. Primrose Hill
Located in Regents Park in North London, Primrose Hill offers unparalleled panoramic views across the London skyline. Pack a picnic and prepare yourself for a relaxing day of people watching atop Primrose Hill – the best time to nab a cosy spot is during sunset, when the whole of the city below is bathed in a beautiful orange glow.
3. London Zoo
No trip to London is complete without a trip to the famous London Zoo. Opened to the public in 1847, the zoo has plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained. If you’ve got children aged between seven and 11, then they can take part in one of the zoo’s popular Bedbug Sleepovers, which is an overnight stay in the zoo’s bug house with a torch lit tour of the zoo after hours included.
4. Word on the Water
Word on the Water is a 1920s Dutch book barge located on the Regent’s Canal in North London. Step aboard the floating bookshop and lose yourself amongst the literary classics that line its walls.
5. Fountains at Granary Square
You could be forgiven for thinking you’d wandered into the Dubai Mall with its famous fountain display as you arrive at Granary Square. Home to over 1000 fountains, each jet individually lit up and choreographed to music – the fountains at Granary Square are a must see while you’re in North London.
6. Princess May car boot sale
