Pick up your Easirent hire car from Heathrow International Airport and head to this year’s Udderbelly Festival in London’s famous Southbank Centre, on the banks of the River Thames.
The festival, which takes place next to the Southbank Centre’s remarkable upside-down purple cow, promises audiences a summer of variety with celebrated music, comedy and circus acts for all the family to enjoy.
Notable performances include Austentatious, a hilarious improvised Jane Austen novel that will unfold in front of your eyes. The stars of the show, who will be dressed in regency attire, include a cast of rising performers that have featured in acclaimed programmes across BBC 2 and BBC 4. Recently completing two massive sell out UK tours, tickets for Austentatious are available online, and it’s certainly not one to be missed.
Fancy getting your judging juices flowing? Leading circus competition, Circus Maximus will be in attendance at this year’s festival, wowing audiences with daring and impressive stunts, in order to compete for the top prize. Ultimately, you will be in charge as winners are selected on the strength of the audience’s applause and the amount of votes cast.
Maybe it’s comedy you’re after? Well you’re in luck – don’t miss Bromance, an intimate but hilarious look at modern day close knit male relationships from a dazzling physical theatre group. Winners of the Total Theatre Award for Best Circus 2014, Bromance runs from 24th June to 19th July.
During the festival, which will be entertaining audiences until 19th July 2015, there will also be opportunity for the comedians of tomorrow to take to the stage with the Comedy Club for Kids, a fun opportunity for kids of all ages to practice their jokes to a live audience.
