Vibrant Arts Festival Returns to Glasgow

The ever-popular Merchant City Festival will return to Glasgow from 25 July 2015, and will run through to the 2nd August. The festival is seen as something of a rival to Edinburgh’s long-standing Fringe festival, which takes place throughout August, and its programme boasts a plethora of free events held in Glasgow’s cultural quarter, including street arts, dance, live music, markets, fashion and design, comedy, family events, tours, heritage walks, talks, food and drink, and much more.

Councillor Gordon Matheson, Leader of Glasgow City Council, Chair of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and Chair of the Merchant City Festival Committee said: “The Merchant City Festival has always been a vibrant, eclectic, and exciting celebration, which played a vital role in bringing the city to life during the Commonwealth Games. As we celebrate the first anniversary of the best ever Commonwealth Games, the Merchant City Festival will be nine days of ambitious, diverse, exciting and fun cultural events which Glasgow has earned an international reputation for delivering. We are looking forward to delivering an outstanding festival and welcoming tens of thousands of people to the streets, hubs and venues across the Merchant City.”

For our valued Easirent customers looking for something different to do whilst in the fair city of Glasgow, the Merchant City Festival is a sure-fire hit. For more information and full events listings, please visit the festival’s official website.
