This year, the Glasgow SSE Hydro Arena plays host to the World Gymnastic Championships 2015. Taking place between 23 October and 1 November, the World Gymnastic Championships is one of the most exciting dates in the gymnastics calendar and will see gymnasts competing for world titles in the run up the the Olympic Games which will be held in Rio in 2016. So collect your Easirent hire car from our Glasgow Airport pick up point and head to the SSE Hydro Arena, which is Scotland’s newest entertainment venue which stands on the bank of Glasgow’s River Clyde and was one of the key venues in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The World Gymnastic Championships first took place in Antwerp in 1903, and now in its 46th year, Glasgow is proud to play the host city. The event, which will see four days of qualifying rounds followed by six days of finals, will see gymnasts competing as part of a team and in individual apparatus events. Over 500 gymnasts will be taking part in the games, in categories including the vault, the uneven bars, the beam, the floor, the pommel horse and the horizontal bar.
Tickets are now on sale and prices for the qualifying rounds start at £10 for a child and £20 for an adult; once the competition reaches the finals round, the prices go up to £30 per child and £60 per adult.
